Sunny City Swing is Calgary’s friendliest swing dance community, known for its fun, beginner-friendly classes and welcoming Sunday night swing dances. Co-owners and instructors Freddie Ferber & Shao Wen Yang will be teaching a super fun, get-you-started swing dancing class at Cold Bones Fest on Saturday, February 7 — a session designed especially for total beginners, yet still a blast for anyone who already knows a few moves. After class, enjoy live swing music and put your new skills to use on the dance floor.
Inspired by the playful partner dancing of the 1940s, Freddie and Shao Wen make swing dancing feel accessible, engaging, and genuinely fun — especially for total beginners. Their classes are warm, supportive, and full of laughter, helping people learn new moves while feeling completely at ease.
Freddie and Shao Wen are thrilled to share the welcoming spirit of Sunny City Swing at Cold Bones Fest in Drumheller.
Cold Bones Fest respectfully acknowledges that we are on Treaty 7 territory, the ancestral and traditional territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy: Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika, as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation and the Stoney Nakoda First Nation. We recognize the land as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those on whose territory we reside.
